August 12, 2018 — John 6:35-51 — "All You Knead is Jesus"

8/12/2018

Reflection Questions:

1. Jesus says, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst" (John 6:35). In what ways has Jesus satisfied your spiritual hunger and thirst? How has this effected you cognitively and emotionally?

2. "So the Jews grumbled about him, because he said, 'I am the bread that came down from heaven.' They said, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say, 'I have come down from heaven'?" (John 6:41-42). Like many today, the Jews in today's Gospel struggled to believe that Jesus came from heaven. Yet, we believe that God Himself came down from heaven and was made man in the person of Christ. What does this reveal about Jesus' ability to teach us about God? How does Jesus' heavenly origins give Him unique qualifications to talk about eternal life?

3. Jesus said, "I am the bread of life" (John 6:48) and that "one may eat of it and not die" (John 6:50). How do we partake of the bread of life? Where do we receive Jesus and His promises?
